Permit requirements
Visitors to South Africa for tourist purposes require a Visitor’s Permit. Depending on the diplomatic relations between South Africa and other countries, the permit will either be issued at the port of entry or by prior arrangement through the nearest South African Embassy or Consulate. Once a person has the relevant Visitor’s Permit, they have the option of extending this for a further 90 days within South Africa.
